Harmonic Presence: Music of the Spheres, Contemplative Awareness and Healing Harmonization

David Hykes

David Hykes is a healing sounds pioneer, contemplative practitioner, and award-winning composer-singer and film composer. Founder of the Harmonic Chant throat-singing lineage, his multi-leveled work has enthralled, transported, and harmonized listeners around the world for over thirty years. The Harmonic Presence work has three main branches: Harmonic Chant (David's original "music of the spheres"), Contemplative Awareness training, and Healing Harmonization. Through deeper awareness of the harmonics of Being—the subtle vibrations of our body-minds and hearts—we can find powerful new channels and openings for healing and transformation. The contemplative practices include transforming work with the harmonics of awareness, voice, listening, breath, and sensation. We learn to cultivate a garden of inner silence, music, and peace. The Harmonic Vision video program projects the voice’s harmonics as a profound visual mandala. Everyone interested in the healing and holistic possibilities of authentic harmonic knowledge is invited. David's work has included collaborations with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the Gyuto Monks, Tuvan musicians, Indian raga guru Sheila Dhar, and the Mind and Life Institute (which unites neuroscientists and contemplative practitioners). He has deep Pueblo Indian connections-his Pueblo Godmother told him "we give you the privilege to sing!" For more information, visit www.harmonicpresence.org.

Please note: On Labor Day there will be a property-wide celebration with live musical entertainment. This event is open to the public.

Recommended listening and reading: CDs and writings by David Hykes.
